Find answers to common questions about our group therapy programs, including how to register, session structure, and what to expect from our adult and teen groups.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do we pay?  

A)If you are doing cash pay, you will sign up on our website under groups. Choose the appropriate group, click on it, and follow the instructions. 


B) If you'd like to pay for insurance (some insurances don't cover groups) you will share your name, email, phone number and email to the secure email address: support@trahantherapyhouston.com. We will create a portal for you, and you will receive two emails from Therapy Portal to complete and submit documents. 

C) Some people will find us on Eventbrite, and you can pay on Eventbrite. We'd prefer that you go to: www.trahantherapyhouston.com to sign up. 
 

 Are groups for adults or adolescents?

We have 4 groups for adults and 4 groups for adolescents/teens

How long are the groups?

Our groups starting in January are 8 weeks each. They will be on the same established day and time for that meeting unless otherwise specified. 

Can I sign up for individual counseling?

Yes, you can. The cost is different, but you can send your legal first and last name, email, phone number, and date of birth to the secure email: support@trahantherapyhouston.com. Request individual counseling. We will set up your portal. Please complete the forms that you receive from the Therapy portal within 5 days of receiving them, or they will expire. 

Why should I attend a group?

Group participants have the opportunity to learn from others as well as from the mental health professional. You also have the opportunity to support each other in a group environment and to feel supported. 

What if I can't attend at the times offered?

You may let us know what works for you. If we choose at some point to offer that time, we will let you know. Otherwise, until that time is offered, you may sign up for individual counseling. 

What if I can't afford to pay? 

There are organizations and churches that may sponsor you for care. 

May I pay via Zelle or some way to avoid fees?

Yes. You may pay via Zelle. You will have to pay on a monthly basis as the administrative burden of tracking down weekly payments would become too great. Here is the Zelle:

Make sure that the Zelle is attached to the name of the person in the group. If it's for a child, send us a message via the portal to let us know who made the payment and who the payment is for. 
 

Are there refunds?

No refunds are offered. You may join the next group with it making. For each group to make we need at least 10 people. 

Can I sit in for 4 weeks and let someone else sit in for 4 weeks?

No. It is designed to have a specific outcome in 8 weeks. 

Are there discounts?

You may be offered a $20 discount for each friend you refer up to a maximum of 3 friends per group period. In other words, if a group is 8 weeks, you will max out at a $60 discount for the 8 week period. 

Is there a discounted package option available?

Yes. Clients may choose a full 8-session package for $299.99, which provides a reduced overall cost for those committed to ongoing therapy; you save $19.93 total compared to paying for eight individual sessions at the standard rate.

May I record the session? 

No. You may not audio or video record the session.

I belong to an organization and we would like to experience the group as an organization. Is that possible?

Yes. It's possible. Please send the organizers name, phone number and email to the secure email: shana@trahantherapyhouston.com (not to be used for marketing purposes). Let us know your purpose, time frame and goal. We will set up a chat and discuss the particulars. 

May I enroll in multiple groups at once?

Yes. You may enroll in multiple groups at once.

May my spouse and I enroll in the same group?

Yes, you may.

May I record the session?

No. You may not audio or video record the session. 

Can someone sit with me during the session?

No, not if they aren't registered.

Can someone else listen in if they aren't registered?

May I take a course more than once? 

Yes. Some of our series will be multipart series. Please feel free to sign up for a consecutive or multiples.
